  • Patent number: 8905486
Abstract: In developing an underground mine a mine shaft 80 is formed by excavating earth and removing excavated material from the shaft 80 by a material transport system comprising skips 36 movable up and down on skip guides within the shaft. Tunnels 82 are launched from a bottom part of shaft 80 by excavating a cavern 81 in which a tunnel boring machine is assembled and operated to bore the tunnels 82. Material from the tunnel excavation is transported from the tunnels via conveyor 87 to the material transport system established within the shaft during formation of the shaft which is operated to transport that material to an earth surface region.

  • Patent number: 8820847
Abstract: A method of block cave mining comprising excavating undercut tunnels (21) at an undercut level; drilling undercut blast holes (25) through the undercut tunnel roofs and setting and detonating explosive charges in those holes to blast rock above the undercut tunnels to initiate the formation of broken rock caverns (26) above the undercut tunnels (21); excavating extraction level tunnels (22) at an extraction level below the undercut level; drilling drawbell blast holes (33) upwardly from the extraction level tunnels at selected drawbell locations toward the broken rock caverns (26) and setting and detonating explosive charges in those holes to blast drawbells (32) through which broken rock falls down into the extraction level tunnels (22); and progressively removing such fallen rock from the drawbell locations through the extraction level tunnels (22); wherein some of the excavation is done mechanically by tunnel boring machinery.

  • Publication number: 20140109817
Abstract: A retractable shallow water anchor system that mounts onto the trolling motor on a boat. The anchor system does not stick up above the top of the trolling motor. When the motor is pulled up or put down, the anchor system travels with it. With the trolling motor down, the user removes the rope from the cleat on the anchor system and two fiberglass rods extend out (extend to 7-8 ft.) to anchor the boat in place. The unit is made of aluminum, stainless steel, and fiberglass.

  • Publication number: 20140046837
Abstract: A device for processing a transaction between a sender and a recipient using a physical object is provided. The device includes a network interface component coupled to a network that receives data packets including first image data and an amount to be associated with the first image data. The device also includes a memory coupled to the network interface component storing the first image data and the amount, and one or more processors coupled to the memory and the network interface component. The one or more processors match second image data included in a second one or more data packets received by the network interface component from the recipient to the first image data, determine the amount associated with the first image data if the second image data matches the first image data, and transfer the associated amount from a sender account to a recipient account.

  • Publication number: 20130262303
Abstract: A method for making financial transactions at an ATM are described. The method includes receiving indentifying information regarding a user, generating a security code, transmitting the code to a user's mobile device, receiving a code entered into the ATM by the user, comparing the code received to the code transmitted, and granting access to an account associated with the user if the codes match.

  • Publication number: 20130187850
Abstract: When a user shakes a mobile device, such as a smart phone, new content is shown on the display of the mobile device. In one embodiment, the content depends on the page or location the user is currently on within the mobile app or mobile browser page and can depend also on the history or experience level of the user.

  • Publication number: 20090191363
Abstract: Enclosed herein is a design and method for creating a durable, compact, collapsible information sheet. This is accomplished by creating a collapsible information sheet comprised of a single elongated loop of a thin strip of spring-like material covered by one or more sheets of flexible covering material. The flexible covering material is comprised of one or more thin layers of fabric, or a synthetic high-density polyethylene fiber, or an alternate material that is durable, light, flexible, preprinted or suitable for printing. The information sheet shape is largely rectangular with slightly rounded corners. The information sheet size is determined by the loop dimension of the spring-like material and the printable covering material encasing the loop created by the spring-like material. The single elongated fabric-covered loop of the information sheet is easily twisted and folded into a compact configuration consisting of a series of smaller concentric loops and covering material layers.

  • Patent number: 5924367
Abstract: A shelf sign system comprising a first shelf and a second shelf, a first mounting bracket attached to the first shelf and attached to the second shelf, the first mounting bracket spanning the first shelf and the second shelf, and a rotatable sign unit engaged with the mounting bracket. The sign unit is slidably engaged with the first mounting bracket permitting lateral movement of the sign unit. The mounting bracket may include a first flange with a first flange opening and a second flange with a second flange opening and a pin rotatably disposed in the first flange opening and the second flange opening, wherein the sign unit is engaged with the pin. The sign unit may include an L-shaped pivot bracket slidably engaging the pin. The sign unit may be rotatable from a first closed to a second open position. Also, a pivot bracket may be vertically slidable along the pin when the sign unit is in the open position so that the sign unit rests against the first and second flange.

  • Patent number: 4048784
Abstract: A device for transporting sliced comestible product from a slicer and loading the product in packages includes a belt drive system, with a plurality of transfer carriages supported thereon, extending between the slicer and the loader. Each transfer carriage includes a grid of horizontal, parallel tines to support the product. The loader includes a loader carriage slidably depending from a track, and a plurality of hooked tines pivotably secured to the loading carriage. The hooked tines are adapted to rotate down between the transfer tines to remove the product therefrom as the loader carriage translates along the track toward the package to be filled. The loader carriage stops above the package, where side guides grasp the sides of the product as the loader tines swing away. A loader plunger then descends to urge the product into the package. The transfer carriages are slidably supported on the belt drive system, so that one or more transfer carriages may be temporarily stopped on the belts.

  • Patent number: 4001723
Abstract: A micropower, latch-up free, relaxation oscillator includes a switch such as a programmable unijunction transistor or a silicon-controlled-switch. The switch is coupled at its gate electrode via an emitter-follower circuit of low output impedance, to a source of reference potential provided by a relatively high resistance resistive voltage divider. The condition of the switch, whether conducting or not, is controlled by a resistor-capacitor timing circuit. When the capacitor charges to a given level, it causes the switch to conduct and to act as a discharge circuit for the capacitor. When the capacitor discharges to a second level, the switch goes off and the cycle then repeats.
