Patent number: 11716376Abstract: A system for managing non-linear transmedia content data is provided. Memory stores a plurality of transmedia content data items and associated linking data which define time-ordered content links between the plurality of transmedia content data items. The plurality of transmedia content data items are arranged into linked transmedia content subsets comprising different groups of the transmedia content data items and different content links therebetween. A control engine receives one or more instructions to create a new time-ordered content link between at least two of the plurality of transmedia content data items. The control engine modifies the linking data stored in the memory to include the new time-ordered content link.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2016Date of Patent: August 1, 2023Assignees: DISNEY ENTERPRISES, INC., ETH ZÜRICH (EIDGENÖSSISCHE TECHNISCHE HOCHSCHULE ZÜRICH)Inventors: Max Grosse, Barbara Solenthaler, Peter Kaufmann, Markus Gross, Sasha Schriber

Patent number: 11297396Abstract: The invention relates to systems and methods for manipulating non-linearly connected transmedia content, in particular for creating, processing and/or managing non-linearly connected transmedia content and for tracking content creation and attributing transmedia content to one or more creators. Specifically, the invention involves creating a transmedia content data item by a first user and storing the transmedia content data item in a data store, along with a record indicating an association between the first user and the transmedia content data item; creating an ordered group of transmedia content data items by a second user, the ordered group comprising a pointer to the transmedia content data item of the first user; and storing the ordered group and a record associating both the first user and the second user with the ordered group in the data store.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2017Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: Disney Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: Rebekkah Laeuchli, Sasha Schriber, Stephan Veen, Markus Gross, Isabel Simo, Max Grosse

Patent number: 9571786Abstract: Interpolating frames of a video may provide a technique for one or more of frame rate conversion, temporal upsampling for generating slow motion video, image morphing, virtual view synthesis, and/or other video applications. A system may be configured to interpolated frames of a video by leveraging frequency domain representations of individual frames. The frequency domain representations may be decomposed into set of discrete functions that make up the frequency domain representations. Corresponding functions from sets of functions associated with frames with which an interpolated frame is to be determined may be identified. Phase differences between corresponding functions may be determined. Interpolated functions between the corresponding functions may be determined based on the determined phased differences. Information describing spatial domain representations of interpolated frames may be determined based on the interpolated functions.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2015Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignees: ETH ZURICH, DISNEY ENTERPRISES, INC.Inventors: Henning Zimmer, Alexander Sorkine Hornung, Simone Meyer, Max Grosse, Oliver Wang
