  • Patent number: 5059122
Abstract: A dental scaler comprises a hollow sleeve and, arranged inside it, a vibrating piezoelectric transducer bearing a scraper, the extremity of which protrudes from the sleeve, and includes an amplifier connected to the transducerk. The transducer includes a base, of a series of piezoelectric chips on the surfaces of which are arranged electrodes connected in such a manner as to define an input and an output, and a head to which the scraper is coupled. The amplifier has an input, an output and two feeder terminals receiving a low direct voltage by way of a cable connected to an external source of voltage. The output and input of the transducer are connected, respectively, to the input and the output of the amplifier to form an oscillator, the frequency of which is determined by the resonant frequency of the transducer coupled to the scraper.

  • Patent number: 4760317
Abstract: The arrangement comprises an external supply unit that feeds into two flexible conductors (5, 5') a variable d.c. voltage (V.sub.A) superposed on a modulated high frequency voltage (V.sub.C), the modulation being dependent on the position of a switch. The arrangement further comprises, inside a handpiece, means (20, 21) connected to the conductors for receiving therefrom and separating the two voltages, means (23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29) for feeding a supply voltage (V.sub.D) to the circuits of the handpiece, means (30, 31, 33, 34) for demodulating the high frequency voltage and for generating a logic signal (S.sub.L) representative of the position of the switch, a three-phase motor, sensors (A, A', A") controlled by the motor, an inverting circuit (41) receiving the logic signal, a control circuit (50), and a drive circuit (60) issuing a three-phase signal (S.sub.M, S'.sub.M, S".sub.M) to the terminals (X, X', X") of the motor. The speed of the motor is determined by the d.c.

  • Patent number: 4588143
Abstract: For winding a ferromagnetic body with axially extending slots opening inwardly, such as a stator, the winding wire is inserted into the slots and laid out onto coil ends by means of pairs of wire dispensing members (8, 10) whereby the wire is repeatedly passed through the bore of the body and inserted into slots and laid out onto the coil heads at one side of the iron body by means of the one of said members (8) while the wire is received by the other member (10) at the other side of said body and is laid out onto a coil end at this other side. The winding operation is executed automatically and economically with optimum conditions regarding efficiency and specific power of the electric machine.

  • Patent number: 4338556
Abstract: An electronically controlled thread-cutting machine comprising a pulse controlled stepping motor for driving the thread-cutting tool, sensor means for scanning an adjustable thread depth and the torque on the thread-cutting tool, said scanning means comprising a counter for determining the steps of the motor and the number of revolutions of the thread-cutting tool respectively therefrom for determining the depth of the thread, and the current consumption of the motor being used for determining the torque transmitted to the thread-cutting tool, the motor being controlled in accordance with the torque and depth of the thread by micro-processor means for reversing the motor when the torque exceeds an upper limit torque and when the desired and preselected thread depth has been attained.
