    Abstract: An instrument for emergency laryngeal-tracheal operations hereinafter referred to as a cricothyrostomy instrument which includes a cricothyrostomy tube of generally L-shaped configuration with the tube having an access opening through which a cutting instrument may be inserted to penetrate the laryngeal-tracheal wall, preferably the cricothyroid membrane, thus enabling the tube to be inserted in the trachea of the individual to permit an airway to be cleared.
