  • Patent number: 4068944
Abstract: A microfilm viewer has an attachment for producing enlarged copies of microfilm, the viewer being of a typical construction and modified as having a cabinet opening beneath the area containing a first mirror used for deflecting a beam of light issuing from a projecting lens onto a projection screen. An undercut area is provided in the cabinet below such opening within which area a separate auxiliary device for making copy enlargements of microfilm records is located. Such auxiliary device has a support frame for a second mirror, the frame and second mirror extending into the opening provided in the viewer cabinet. The second mirror is so disposed as to catch the light beam reflected from the first mirror and deflect it onto a substantially horizontal picture plane of the auxiliary device so as to illuminate a light-sensitive material located in such picture plane.

  • Patent number: 4029956
Abstract: In a projection device including a lamp unit detachably connected with a unit containing the optical condenser system, the lamp unit containing a concave mirror and an electric bulb mounted in a socket, the bulb being movable for the purpose of centering its filament coil in relation to the mirror and the condenser unit being fixedly mounted in a projection device while the lamp unit is merely supported by the condenser unit, the connecting means are so designed as to connect the lamp unit mechanically to the condenser unit as well as forming an electrical connection between the bulb socket and the terminal parts of the condenser unit. The connecting elements are secured to one of two units and extend parallel to the optical axis of the light fixture, the other of the units having guide recesses into which the connecting elements are inserted in the manner of a plug connection.

  • Patent number: 4025175
Abstract: Apparatus for reading images from an image carrier, such as a microfiche. The apparatus includes a mechanism for holding the image carrier between two glass plates as the carrier is moved across the optical plane of a corresponding optical system. These glass plates are pressed together in the area of the optical axis so as to ensure that the image carrier is held in a flat position when it is being viewed through the optical system. When the holding mechanism is moved to one end position so as to be substantially withdrawn from the reading apparatus, however, one of the glass plates is automatically swiveled out and away from the other glass plate so as to allow an image carrier to either be removed or inserted between the glass plates.
