  • Patent number: 11788265
Abstract: A device for disinfecting the interior of a drain pipe having a tubular wall formed with a hole between the sink drain inlet and the U-shaped trap. A UV-C LED module is positioned to register with the hole and includes a UV-C LED that generates a radiation beam having a predetermined radiation angle to transmit UV-C light into the drain pipe through the hole to irradiate at least a portion of said interior surface and expose airborne pathogens contained therein to UV-C light. A lens generally coextensive with the tubular wall has a peripheral edge aligned with the hole. The UV-C LED is spaced from the lens a distance to cause the radiation beam to extend up to but not beyond the peripheral edge of the lens to maximize transmission of UV-C light through the lens to maximize exposure of the interior surface and airborne pathogens to the UV-C light.

  • Patent number: 10953120
Abstract: A device for neutralizing pathogens on a tactile surface arranged to be touched or contacted by a user's hand includes a housing adapted to be attached to a support surface, such as a wall of an ATM, generally above the tactile surface. A UV light source is provided on the housing arranged to irradiate UV radiation on the tactile surface. A personnel detector is provided for detecting the presence of a person in sufficient proximity to the tactile surface to touch or contact the tactile surface. Control circuitry, preferably in the form of a programmable controller, is provided for normally energizing the UV light source and de-energizing the UV light source upon detection of a user in sufficient proximity to allow a user to touch or contact the tactile surface. A white light source is provided to illuminate the tactile surface when the UV light source is de-energized.

  • Publication number: 20210047815
Abstract: A drain disinfecting device for disinfecting the internal surface of a drain pipe wall that is provided with a hole or aperture includes a UV LED module provided with a transparent lens through which UV-C light can be transmitted. The module is attached to the drain pipe to register the transparent lens with the hole in the drain pipe to transmit UV light through the transparent lens into the interior of the drain pipe to irradiate the drain pipe inner surface and any pathogens contained therein with UV light. A controller or power source is provided for energizing the module. A method of converting an existing drain pipe to disinfect the interior surface includes forming a hole or aperture in the wall of the drain pipe and registering the drain disinfecting device with the hole or aperture in the drain pipe.

  • Patent number: 10463759
Abstract: A disinfecting vanity mirror includes a mirror panel having a top end, a bottom end and lateral edges when mounted on a wall. The mirror is moveably mounted on a hinge along one lateral edge mounted to space the panel from the wall to create a plenum space behind the mirror panel to allow air to enter through the bottom end to rise and exit through the top end. A source of UV light is provided in proximity to the plenum space to sanitize the air moving upwardly through the plenum space. A controller is programmed to interrupt or discontinue the generation of UV light when a motion detector senses motion in proximity to the mirror and/or in accordance with a programmed sequence of on and off times for energizing and de-energizing the source of UV light.

  • Patent number: 9724442
Abstract: A disinfecting vanity mirror includes a mirror panel having a top end and a bottom end when mounted on a wall. A mirror hanger mounts the mirror panel in spaced relation to the wall to create a plenum space behind the mirror panel that is open at the top and bottom ends to provide a vertical air passageway through the plenum space for air entering through the bottom end to rise and exit through the top end. A source of UV-C light is provided along the bottom end to promote convection by locally heating air to sanitize the air moving upwardly through said plenum space where it is exposed to the UV light. A heating element is provided near the bottom end to more quickly heat the air to accelerate movement of the air to be recycled and increased numbers of pathogens to be exposed to the UV-C light source.
