  • Patent number: 12039869
Abstract: A driver assistance system for motor vehicles. The system includes a sensor device for detecting the traffic surroundings, a detection module for detecting potential pedestrians based on the data of the sensor device, a plausibility check module for assessing, based on predefined criteria, the probability that a detected potential pedestrian is a real pedestrian, and a warning module for triggering counter-measures in the case of an impending collision with the real pedestrian. The plausibility check module is configured to recognize, based on the data of the sensor device, pedestrian-related traffic infrastructure devices, and to carry out the plausibility check, taking a spatial relationship between the potential pedestrian and the traffic infrastructure device into consideration.

  • Publication number: 20240144818
Abstract: A method for grouping traffic light structures of a traffic light system, wherein each traffic light structure has at least one traffic light that can be activated, and wherein a first traffic light structure controls at least a first direction of travel. The method includes: ascertaining a relation of activated traffic lights to one another; grouping the traffic light structures taking into account the ascertained relation. A device and a corresponding computer program are also described.

  • Publication number: 20240096108
Abstract: A method for the early recognition of a stopping position for a driver assistance system of an ego vehicle at a stop signal by a light signal system. An enlarged working area and increased possible speeds are achieved in that a stop signal of a light signal system for an ego roadway of the ego vehicle is recognized; if a stop signal is recognized, the ego roadway is searched for a crosswalk, wherein if a crosswalk is recognized, the crosswalk is used for the early recognition of a stopping position of the ego vehicle. A computer program product for performing the method and a motor vehicle performing the method are also described.

  • Publication number: 20230237669
Abstract: A method for determining a signal state of a light signal system having several light signal emitters, wherein the light signal system comprises several signal states and a signal state is formed by means of one or more activated light signal emitters. The method includes: determining an object, which represents a signal state of a light signal system; saving a determined first object having a first identifier, if it is detected in a first video image that the first object represents a signal state of the light signal system; changing the identifier of the saved first object from the first identifier to a second identifier, if in a second video image the first object is no longer detected; deleting the saved first object having the second identifier, if a second object is determined in a further video image, which represents a different signal state of the light signal system.

  • Publication number: 20230071439
Abstract: A method for ascertaining which one of at least two traffic light systems located in the area in front of a motor vehicle is to be observed by this motor vehicle. The ascertainment is performed by evaluating the driving behavior of a vehicle traveling in front as a function of the current light status of the traffic light systems.
