  • Patent number: 5171045
Abstract: A separable device for connecting tubular elements, hoses, rods or the like, comprising a tubular housing and a clamping member. In such a connecting device, a passage is formed in the tubular housing and comprises at least near one end a portion which is enlarged in diameter and which conically tapers toward the exit cross-section of the passage. The clamping member consists of a tubular member, which has an inside diameter that corresponds to the outside diameter of the tubular member, hose, rod or the like, and an outside diameter that corresponds to the diameter of the exit cross-section of the tubular housing. The tubular clamping member is adapted to be inserted into the tubular housing and into the enlarged portion to be retained therein by an enlarged end rim consisting of an annular bead, the outside diameter of which is smaller than the inside diameter of the enlarged portion but larger than the exit cross-section of the passage.

  • Patent number: 4889320
Abstract: A thick-walled housing has a longitudinal hole with an end orifice that runs in the axial direction of the housing. A spring-loaded clamping unit is axially displaceable in the hole. An oblique hole in the housing obliquely opens into the longitudinal hole. The clamping unit clamps a rope fed through the end orifice of the longitudinal hole and emerging through the oblique hole. The clamping unit has an axial projection on each side. The housing has guide slots located opposite one another that guide the axial projections. The ends of the axial projections form handles that pass through and extend beyond the housing. The clamping unit consists of a front and rear roller and a bearing part connecting the rollers one behind the other. The diameter of the front roller is smaller and depends on its forward displacement. The axial projections are provided on the larger rear roller.

  • Patent number: 4866250
Abstract: A preheater for liquids, particularly fuel, includes a bowl-shaped housing provided with a bowl cover to form a closed chamber. A superficial heating chamber extends along the side wall of the housing to form at least a portion of a flow path for liquid to be preheated extending from an inlet on the cover through the heating chamber and the interior of the housing to an outlet on the cover. An electric heating foil directly contacts the exterior of the superficial heating chamber for heating the liquid flowing through the flow path and has its outer surface covered by a reflective foil and thermal insulation. A filter may be accommodated in the bowl-shaped housing to filter the liquid flowing through the flow path. Helical guide ribs in the superficial heating chamber significantly lengthen the flow path.

  • Patent number: 4850316
Abstract: A contact-breaking ignition plug comprises a magnet coil arranged in a housing and surrounding a magnet core. The magnet core comprises an enlarged end portion with lateral surfaces extending conically in relation thereto and also comprises a cavity in which an armature is movably arranged. The armature is mounted on a rod in asymmetrical relation to a longitudinal center plane of the cavity and in transverse relation to the direction of compression pressure propagation. These features induce a concentration of the magnetic effect in the armature region and cause the contact-breaking motion to be augmented by the compression pressure. Respective contact electrodes are exchangeably mounted at each of the free end of the armature and a nose of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4718392
Abstract: A rigid or dimensionally stable insulating casing or jacket has a surface heating element or superficial heating element connected to the inner surface thereof. This insulating casing or jacket and this superficial heating element conjointly form a sturdy or dimensionally stable preheating body or device for preheating liquids, especially for preheating liquid fuels used for combustion and for powering engines. The inner surface of the preheating body or device provides a substantially close fit, at least in the region of the superficial heating element, for accommodating a chamber or vessel for liquids to be preheated, especially for accommodating a filter pot or bowl for fuel used for powering engines. The preheating body or device is advantageously divided into shell segments which are easily mounted or placed about the chamber or vessel for liquids to be preheated.

  • Patent number: 4509469
Abstract: A break ignition plug for piston engines wherein an electromagnet acts upon an armature which activates a movable electrode and an ignition pulse passes through the magnet coil of the electromagnet and a short-circuit path between the electrodes. The magnetic field which builds-up in the electromagnet causes breaking of the short-circuit path and spark formation. At the free end of blade or band springs arranged in spaced relationship from one another at the lengthwise axis of the ignition plug there are provided confronting electrode heads. The blade springs are retained at the magnet core and freely protrude by means of the electrode ends into a hollow space or chamber formed at a threaded portion of the ignition plug. At a magnet gap region of the core there are formed at the blade springs armatures which repel one another upon excitation of the electromagnet.

  • Patent number: 4467827
Abstract: Valve body or stopper 1, for screwing into a liquid-filled system, is divided by a partition 2 into an inner chamber 6 accommodating a valve ball 8 loaded by a spring 7 into a valve opening 3 in the partition 2, and outer chamber 9 through the wall of which are a plurality of vent openings 10. Closure plug 13 screws into the chamber 9 and has a stem 12 on which are stopper rings 14 which swell upon taking up moisture and which register with the vent openings 10 so as to close the latter if liquid penetrates the valve opening 3. To enable the system to be bled manually as desired, a spindle 17 extends axially through the stem 12 to protrude by one end from the plug 13. At the other end the spindle 17 carries a pusher portion 19 by which the ball 8 can be unseated, this pusher portion 19 having, at its end facing away from the ball 8, a closure surface which serves, when the ball 8 is not being lifted, to seal the facing end of the channel, in the stem 12, through which the spindle 17 extends.

  • Patent number: 4368728
Abstract: A plurality of guides are mounted in a housing. Each of the guides is movable up and down transversely to its longitudinal direction. A plurality of sleeve carriers are slidably mounted on respective ones of the guides. A plurality of finger sleeves extend on top of the housing and are secured to respective ones of the sleeve carriers. A drive is provided for reciprocating the guides up and down with the sleeve carriers and finger sleeves and for reciprocating the sleeve carriers with the finger sleeves along said guides. A horizontal shaft is mounted in the housing for rotation on a first axis. The drive comprises a motor for rotating the shaft. A plurality of eccentric camwheels are non-rotatably mounted on the shaft. A plurality of levers are pivoted in the housing on a common second axis, which is parallel to the first axis.

  • Patent number: 4172439
Abstract: A break ignition plug for piston engines wherein an electromagnet acts upon an armature which actuates a movable electrode and an ignition pulse flows through a magnet coil of the electromagnet and a short-circuit path between the movable electrode and a counterelectrode (ground electrode). The magnetic field which builds-up in the electromagnet causes breaking of the short-circuit path while forming a spark. A pressure equalization chamber communicates with an internal cylinder chamber of the piston engine for relieving the forces which are to be generated by the armature for the movement of the movable electrode. The armature which is to be attracted, against the force of a spring, by the electromagnet is located at least partially at the side of the electromagnet confronting the inner cylinder chamber and carries the movable electrode directed towards the inner cylinder compartment.

  • Patent number: 4084456
Abstract: A wrench for turning components such as bolts, nuts, screws or the like wherein a gripping head is pivotally connected to the wrench handle so that with the head gripping the component to be turned, the handle can be pivoted from a position in which it is generally radial with respect to the axis of turning of the component, to a position in which it is more axial relative to the said axis of turning of the component. The wrench preferably has a second gripping head at the other end, and each gripping head is similarly pivoted to the handle. Each head may be pivotable relative to the handle by 90.degree. to each side of a mean position in which the head is in the general plane of the handle.
