  • Patent number: 9669428
Abstract: A product sorting apparatus is operable to sort products by inducing an oscillating or rocking motion to a plurality of sorting trays in a vertically stacked arrangement. A subset of the products in a top-most tray selectively pass to successive sorting trays. Each of the sorting trays is configured to receive and selectively transmit the selected products according to a separator or sorting panel that is disposed between an input and an output of a given tray. Each of the separator panels defines apertures that facilitate sorting of the products according to size and/or shape. The rocking or oscillating motion has an amplitude and a period according to an input from a drive mechanism, which may include a motor and drive link with a controller and/or a power switch. Optionally, a safety cage and one or more cutoff switches are provided for protecting the sorter and personnel.

  • Publication number: 20110062100
Abstract: An anti-tip assembly for use with a shelving system movable along a track. The track includes a first flange overhanging a first longitudinally extending channel and a second flange overhanging a second longitudinally extending channel. The anti-tip assembly includes an open ended channel, and a first bracket having a first flange extending into a first open end of the open ended channel, and a second flange extending into the first channel of the track. The anti-tip assembly further includes a second bracket having a first flange extending into a second open end of the open ended channel, and a second flange extending into the second channel of the track. The first and second brackets are slidable inside the open ended channel and coupled together with a maximum spacing therebetween. A biasing member biases the first and second brackets outwardly away from one another within the maximum spacing.

  • Publication number: 20080101903
Abstract: As will be discussed in greater detail herein, a transport system is used to move wheeled structures, such as beds. A wheeled bed will be used as the depicted implementation, but other wheeled structures can also be moved by the transport system. The compact design of the transport system allows the transport system when coupled with a bed to be maneuvered through space restricted areas such as elevators.
