Abstract: Methods to allow, suppress, or reformulate a presentation of a UI element invoked by a computer program are provided. One method includes applying an administrator-configurable heuristic to determine whether to allow a native presentation of the UI element, to suppress the native presentation of the UI element, or to enable a reformulated presentation of the UI element. The method further includes one or more of suppressing and reformulating the UI element in accordance with a determination of the heuristic.

Abstract: Various embodiments related to assigning z-order to a plurality of user interface elements are disclosed. One disclosed embodiment provides a method of assigning a z-ordering to a user interface element displayed on a multi-user interactive display based upon an interaction state of the user interface element, the interaction state being dependent upon how a user interacts with the user interface element. The method comprises detecting a change in the interaction state of the user interface element. If the change is an initiation of a movement of the user interface element on the display, the user interface element is moved to a first predetermined position within the z-ordering. If the change is an initiation of a user interaction with content contained within the user interface element, the user interface element is moved to a second predetermined position within the z-ordering.

A policy map may map group policies to the sections and entries of the registry. A policy map registry section field of the policy map may specify one or more sections of the registry to which group policies are mapped. The policy map may include one or more registry variable policy map fields, each of which may specify mappings for different types of registry variables. A configuration file repository may include sets and versions of policy configuration files that include policy maps. A group policy configuration tool may retrieve and parse policy maps, and update group policies corresponding to the policy maps.
