Patent number: 12045929Abstract: A three-dimensional geometric image of an anatomical region is generated from a plurality of two-dimensional echographic image slices of the region. The image slices are filtered using a reaction-diffusion partial differential equation model before being arranged into a voxel space. Each voxel is then assigned a voxel value to create a volumetric data set from which the volumetric image can be rendered. The image is rendered from far to near, relative to a preset viewing direction, by an alpha-blending process. The alpha value at any given voxel can be determined using the magnitude of the density gradient vector at that voxel. Similarly, the direction of the density gradient vector at a given voxel can be used as a surface normal vector for shading purposes at that voxel.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2021Date of Patent: July 23, 2024Assignee: St. Jude Medical, Cardiology Division, Inc.Inventors: Lorina Dascal, Oded Sudarsky, Jacob Segev, Alexander Dathskovsky, Yaron Valach, Maxim Yoresh

Patent number: 11607526Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include a system for determining an error associated with an electrode disposed on a medical device. The system comprises a processor and a memory storing instructions on a non-transitory computer-readable medium. The instructions are executable by the processor to receive an electrode signal from the electrode disposed on the medical device. The instructions are further executable by the processor to receive a plurality of other electrode signals from a plurality of other electrodes disposed on the medical device. The instructions are further executable by the processor to determine that the electrode signal received from the electrode disposed on the medical device is an outlier in relation to the plurality of other electrode signals from the plurality of other electrodes disposed on the medical device, based on a comparison between the electrode signal and the plurality of other electrode signals.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2021Date of Patent: March 21, 2023Assignee: ST JUDE MEDICAL INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS S.À R.L.Inventors: Eitan Oren, Oded Sudarsky, Adar Shlain, Stavit Cohen, Alexander Zaslavsky, Silvina Rybnikov, Maxim Yoresh

Patent number: 11547492Abstract: Systems and methods are described for implementing a catheter model to estimate shape of a deformable catheter in a three-dimensional space. The catheter model includes two or more model segments that correspond to two or more segments of the deformable catheter. Each model segment includes a length and location of model electrode(s) and/or model magnetic sensor(s) corresponding electrodes and/or magnetic sensors of the deformable catheter. Variable shape parameter define a curvature of the segment. Varying the shape parameters generates a plurality of potential catheter shapes. In conjunction with generating the potential catheter shapes, impedance and/or magnetic responses (e.g., measured responses) are obtained for the physical electrodes and/or physical magnetic sensors of the deformable catheter. Using a selected one (e.g., most likely) of the potential catheter shapes and the measured responses, the shape parameters are updated and a catheter shape is generated and displayed.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2019Date of Patent: January 10, 2023Assignee: ST JUDE MEDICAL INTERNATIONAL HOLDING, SA.R.L.Inventors: Anthony D. Publication number: 20200138334Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for use in identifying location of electrodes of a catheter within a three-dimensional space. The systems and methods initially predict locations of physical electrodes and/or physical magnetic sensors of the catheter in the three-dimensional space. Impedance and/or magnetic responses are predicted for the predicted locations. Actual measurements/responses (e.g., measured responses) are then obtained for the physical electrodes and/or physical sensors. Based on the predicted responses and the measured responses, the systems and methods generate calculated locations of electrodes and/or sensors in the three-dimensional space. The systems and method utilize information from both the predicted responses and the measured responses to produce the calculated locations, which may have an accuracy that is greater than locations produced by either the predicted responses or the measured responses.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 29, 2019Publication date: May 7, 2020Inventors: ANTHONY D. HILL, YURIY MALININ, CABLE THOMPSON, SILVINIA RYBNIKOV, MAXIM YORESH, ODED SUDARSKY
