  • Patent number: 10414217
Abstract: A patch is provided for an electronic device of a tire. The patch includes first and second compartments. The first compartment, which does not include an opening, is structured to house therein an electronic identification module. The second compartment, which includes a reclosable opening, is structured to house therein an electronic module having a complementary function to a function of the electronic identification module. The electronic module is adapted to receive identification data from the electronic identification module.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 13, 2015
Date of Patent: September 17, 2019
Assignee: Compagnie Generale des Establissments Michelin

  • Patent number: 9754138
Abstract: A system is provided for dynamically reading data from a tire transponder that includes a linear-polarization antenna. The system includes one ore more system antennas and one or more readers. Each system antenna is able to receive data transmitted by the tire transponder. Each reader is able to couple to the one or more antennas to read and store the data from the tire transponder. Each system antenna is a linear-polarization antenna with a vertical electric field.

  • Patent number: 9679174
Abstract: A system is provided for dynamically reading data from transponders of tires disposed laterally on a same side of a vehicle. The system includes antennas, a sensor for each antenna, a reader, a controllable switch, and a programmable logic controller. The antennas are arranged to receive data transmitted by the transponders. Each sensor is positioned upstream of an effective reading area covered by a corresponding one of the antennas, and each sensor transmits a signal associated with passage of a tire. The reader is arranged to couple to the antennas in order to read and store data from the transponders. The switch is positioned between the antennas and the reader to provide a selective coupling between the reader and each of the antennas. The controller controls the switch as a function of wheel-passage sensor signals.
