  • Patent number: 6105952
Abstract: A stacked-sheet prefeeder comprises a sheet guiding device for receiving therein a stack of sheets, an intermediate tray, a scale former for removing sheets, arranged in a stack and/or in a scalelike mode of arrangement, jointly from the lower surface of the stack received in the sheet guiding device and for introducing these sheets into the intermediate tray in a first direction of movement, a sheet separator for removing from the intermediate tray the respective lowermost sheet as a single sheet in a second direction of movement which is substantially opposed to the first direction of movement, and a guide means arranged in the intermediate tray and used for guiding the sheets in the intermediate tray at their sheet edges constituting the front sheet edges in the second direction of movement, the guide means being implemented as a transport and guide means in such a way that it moves the sheet edges constituting the front sheet edges in the second direction of movement in the interior of the intermediate tr

  • Patent number: 6074332
Abstract: A knife folder for folding a sheet material comprises a sheet-material feeder for feeding the sheet material in a first direction, a folder for folding said sheet material, and a sheet-material conveyer used for conveying the sheet material and comprising at least one pair of rotating conveying components whose axes of rotation are arranged in a second direction substantially at right angles to the first direction. The folder pushes the folded sheet material between the conveying components of the at least one pair of conveying components when it is at its folding position. The sheet material is advanced up to a stop. The folder comprises a knife extending in a third direction substantially at right angles to said first and said second direction. The sheet material can be conveyed in the third direction by actuating the conveying components.

  • Patent number: 5996988
Abstract: A device for producing a scaled stream with a controllable scaled-stream thickness has a sheet guiding device for receiving therein a stack of sheets, a first transport means, which has a selectively operable or controllable drive, which engages only the lower surface of the stack of sheets and which is arranged relative to the stack of sheets in such a way that the stack of sheets rests thereon with at least a first part of its weight, a second transport means, which is arranged behind the first transport means when seen in the direction of the stream of sheets, which is arranged relative to the stack of sheets in such a way that, when the second transport means is operated without operating the first transport means, it will transport only sheets which have already been drawn out of the stack of sheets by the first transport means, and which is also arranged relative to the stack of sheets in such a way that the stack of sheets rests thereon only with a second part of its weight, the second part of its weig

  • Patent number: 5280902
Abstract: A conveying device for sheets of paper, or similar materials, with some continuous conveyor belts (8 and 9) which are led over localized drive rollers (18 and 19) and also over localized return rollers (6, 7) and then over additional mutually displaceable turn-around rollers (27, 28, 29 and 30). The supporting frame includes a supporting guide track which runs between the return rollers (6, 7) and the drive rollers (18 and 19). The drive rollers (18 and 19) are mounted in a plane lying above the supporting guide track (1). A short sliding carriage (24) is provided as an adjustable component of the supporting frame, the carriage being adjustable, in an infinitely variable manner, and fixable in position on the upper side of the supporting guide track (1) between the drive rollers (18 and 19) and the return rollers (6, 7) by guiding elements and clamping elements.

  • Patent number: 5249788
Abstract: The device for feeding sheet stacks 26 has a guiding device 5, in which a plurality of endless guide belts 18, 19, which guide the sheet stack 26 to a motor-driven sheet feed device 8 arranged on a removal side of the sheet stack. The endless guide belts 18 are arranged in an essentially horizontal stack support surface 4. The essentially vertical, stack-side feed sections of the feed conveyer belts 35 of the sheet feed device 8 are subdivided by articulated rollers 38 of a horizontal articulated shaft 39 arranged in the upper third of the sheet stack 26 into a lower decollation section 33, which is sloped by more than 5.degree. and less than 30.degree. relative to the vertical line, and an upper, more highly sloped feed section 34. To achieve reliable decollation of sheets even in the case of sheets of paper carrying high electrostatic charge, an intermittent drive 75 is provided, which drives the sheet 26' lying on the decollation sections 33 of the feed conveyer belts 35 with pulse-like acceleration steps.

  • Patent number: 5244197
Abstract: The friction feeder for paper sheets is provided with a continuously rotating feed roller (2) arranged under a decollation plane and with an immobile decollating roller (4) arranged above it with parallel axis, forming an adjustable decollating gap. Continuously driven conveyor belts (14-17), whose delivery strands (14'-17') extend on both front sides of the feed roller (2) in the decollation plane are also provided. To achieve accurate starting and stopping of the decollation process, pre-decollating rollers (35, 36), which loosely lie on the delivery strands (14'-17') of the conveyor belts (14-17) in front of the decollating roller (4) in the delivery direction (arrow 7), and the pre-decollating rollers are mounted nonrotatably on a common, freely rotatable shaft (37), whose axis is parallel to the decollating roller (4), and the lowermost paper sheets of a sheet stack (23) located in front of the pre-decollating rollers are in contact with the pre-decollating rollers.
