    Abstract: The shaft parts of a laying knife are pivotable against one another in scissor-like manner with a joint for opening purposes and in the use position are prevented from rotating by a plug-in bolt constructed as a blade magazine and are prevented from spreading by front and rear locking devices, a rear knocking surface of the handle shaft being continuously formed by a single shaft part. This leads to very simple operation with high stability of the handle shaft.
