  • Patent number: 9578282
Abstract: A technique for initiating a communication session can include receiving a signal that a first and second user desire to participate in a communication session during a particular time period. The technique can include monitoring activity of the first and second users during the particular time period to determine whether the users are prepared to participate in the communication session. When it is determined that the first user is prepared to participate in the communication session, the technique can include outputting, to the second user computing device, an indication that the first user is prepared to participate in the communication session. When it is determined that both of the first and second users are prepared to participate in the communication session, the technique can include initiating the communication session.

  • Publication number: 20170034502
Abstract: A system and method multi-camera error compensation including recording a plurality of raw images via a plurality of digital cameras and an application processor processing with a multi-view stereo imaging system one or more plural image frames from the raw images captured by the plurality of digital cameras. The plural images may be stored in memory and the detection conducted for calibration loss of at least one digital camera via the processor executing instructions for a multi-camera error compensating system to determine loss of calibration in plural images. The multi-camera error compensating system conducts dynamic recalibration of plural image calibration parameters based on at least one plural image frame and in response to detection of calibration loss via the multi-camera error compensating system and a processor reprocesses the plural image frame from a reprocessing queue according to the recalibrated plural image parameters.

  • Publication number: 20160349842
Abstract: Computer-implemented techniques include receiving, at a first mobile computing device having one or more processors, a first input signal from a first set of pressure sensors associated with the first mobile computing device, the first input signal having been generated by the first set of pressure sensors in response to a first force applied by a first user. The techniques also include transmitting, from the first mobile computing device to a second mobile computing device, the first input signal, wherein receipt of the first input signal causes the second mobile computing device to generate and output a first output signal based on the first input signal, and wherein the output of the first output signal causes a first set of haptic actuators associated with the second mobile computing device to generate a second force to be felt by a second user.

  • Patent number: 6854935
Abstract: A method of reducing ground disturbance during freeze-thaw cycles. The steps include excavating soil from an area affected by ground disturbance due to subsurface flow and subsequent freezing of water. A subsurface layer of thermal insulation is then laid over the affected area, thereby thermally insulating the affected area from freezing. The subsurface layer of thermal insulation has a top surface and a bottom surface. A subsurface layer of wick material capable of drawing water away from the affected area by capillary action is also laid parallel to one of the top surface or the bottom surface of the subsurface layer of thermal insulation positioned in a path of the subsurface flow of water.
