  • Publication number: 20230233339
Abstract: Various implementations include a compliant element comprising a spring component, a mounting portion, and a transverse shear constraint element. The spring component comprises two or more stacked beam elements. Each beam element has a first and second end with the first end of each beam is attached to the mounting portion. Furthermore, the transverse shear constraint element is located between the first and second ends of the beam elements and prevents the relative sliding of two or more beam elements in the region of the beams between the first beam ends and the transverse shear constraint element.

  • Publication number: 20220241131
Abstract: This application relates to an actuation system for assistive wearable devices such as exoskeletons designed to actuate a joint of a wearer of the device. The actuation system comprises a cable that connects a guide member arranged on one side of the joint and active components arranged on the other side of the joint. Applying a tension to the cable causes the cable to apply a force to the joint in a superior direction, which translates into a torque of the joint. The actuation system provides the advantages of having a low profile, and being substantially flexible, compliant, lightweight, and comfortable, while having good controllability and force delivery capabilities.

  • Patent number: 10369028
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for prosthetic devices. In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a first section attachable to an abutment screw of a percutaneous implant; a second section attachable to a prosthetic limb; a latch for coupling the first section with the second section, the latch releasable in response to an overload on the prosthetic limb. A compliance component may be positioned between the first section and the second section, such that when the latch releases in response to the overload, the compliance component provides a tension between the first section and the second section.
