Abstract: Airflow changes in a subject's airway can be monitored and/or quantified using B-mode ultrasound, such as by computing respiratory parameter data from motion signals generated from B-mode signals. This monitoring may be performed before, during, or following a procedure, or may be used as a general patient monitoring tool. For example, signs of airway obstruction or respiratory compromise and/or failure during timeframes where patients have ongoing or residual sedation or anesthetics in their system can be monitored.

Abstract: Pressure and pressure or displacement variations are measured in a media, such as a fluid (e.g., air, other gases, or other liquid fluids), using ultrasound. The pressure may be sound pressure (e.g., acoustic pressure), pseudo-sound pressure (e.g., hydrodynamic pressure), displacement, and so on. By measuring pressure or displacement, the flow in the fluid can be measured, estimated, parameterized, or otherwise quantified. In this way, measurements of pressure (e.g., acoustic pressure, hydrodynamic pressure) or displacement can be correlated or otherwise converted into a measurement of flow. The pressure measurements can also be converted into audio signals that can be played back to a user.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for efficient interrupt event notification for a scalable input/output device in a network system. A network interface unit is operably connected to a plurality of processing entities and associated memory units. At least one status register in the network interface unit contains information relating to a process to be performed by at least one processing entity communicated to the processing entity by an interrupt event notification. Shared memory space comprises a mailbox storage register operable to store an image of the interrupt information stored in the status register of the network interface unit. A processing entity can directly access the process information stored in the mailbox status register thereby reducing system latency associated with reading information in the status register. Updated process status information in the network interface status register may be read by the processing entity on an interleaved basis while executing a process.

The POSS is soluble in polar solvents, but insoluble in water. The invention also provides a polarizing plate containing the polyvinyl alcohol film composition.

The metal golf club head is further cut off any surplus metal and polished to complete a one-piece metal golf club head.
