  • Publication number: 20020131985
Abstract: A system is described for providing a customized, personal care product to a consumer at a location, typically the point of sale, that is remote from a second location in which a personal care product base composition is prepared. A selection of performance agents of different classes with a common vehicle is made available to the consumer for custom formulation of a personal care product with the desired attributes. The system typically includes a product base, a fragrance part, and one or more performance agent parts that may contain benefit agents, botanical extracts, active ingredients for skin and hair, and the like. A blank vehicle is substituted if insufficient performance agents are selected.

  • Patent number: 5929019
Abstract: An aqueous liquid cleansing and moisturizing composition comprising a base formulation and an additive formulation in which the base formulation and additive formulation are separate but combinedly dispensable from a single packaging means in a predetermined ratio as discrete domains. By adding some surfactant to additive formulation stripe, enhanced lather is obtained. Further, some surfactant is assured, even if there is uneven pumping. Finally, greater consumer control of surfactant of moisturizer levels is afforded.

  • Patent number: 5393450
Abstract: The present invention provides an aqueous shower-gel composition comprising: 10-30% wt of an anionic surfactant, 3-15% wt of an oily component, the ratio of said anionic surfactant to said oil being at least 1:1, 1-5% wt of a fatty acid monoglyceride polyglycol ether, and, 1-5% wt of at least one nonionic surfactant having a HLB between 5 and 10. The oily component is present at a level which provides a skin benefit. The composition has a viscosity suitable for use as a shower-gel, contains an effective level of low molecular weight moisturising oil and does not lose product structure due to the presence of this oil. Typically, the oily component is a 3-6 carbon alcohol ester of a fatty acid having at least 10 carbon atoms.
