  • Publication number: 20260172903
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first device may transmit a medium access control (MAC) address of the first device and an internet protocol (IP) address of the first device to a second device paired with the first device. The first device may transmit a connection request to an application server on a non-cellular link via an access point, using the MAC address and the IP address. The first device may receive (and the second device may sniff) a set of media packets from the application server, via the access point, that are destined for the MAC address and the IP address. The first device may receive, from the second device, a request for media packets of the set of media packets. The first device may transmit, to the second device, buffered media packets of the media packets. Other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20260172967
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques generally provide for modifying a bit rate of a real-time stream at a station (STA). The STA may determine an average wake duration within an interval for communications with an access point (AP), and may compare the average to a target active duration for efficient power usage. In some other cases, the STA may learn a scheduling pattern of the AP, and may reduce the bitrate to eliminate the need for a portion of the wake duration having relatively lower data transmissions. Modifying the bit rate may support adjusting the active duration of the STA to be closer to the target active duration while maintaining a similar quality of the real-time stream (such as, a lossless stream).

  • Patent number: 12615106
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for techniques for dynamically adjusting retransmission opportunities within a connected isochronous stream (CIS) are described. In some aspects, a first wireless device and a second wireless device may support one or more dynamic or “on-the-fly” adjustments to one or more CIS settings in accordance with a link quality between the first wireless device and the second wireless device. For example, the first wireless device and the second wireless device may tie a number of transmission opportunities that are usable for retransmissions, within a given isochronous (ISO) interval, to the link quality between the first wireless device and the second wireless device. The link quality may be tied or associated with a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of the link. As such, the first wireless device and the second wireless device may tie a dynamic change in MCS to a dynamic change in retransmission opportunities.

  • Publication number: 20250317240
Abstract: To improve the probability of receiving a link layer block, a block retransmission repetition scheme may be utilized. Block retransmission repetition may enable link layer blocks to be included more than once in a retransmission, thereby increasing the probability that the retransmitted link layer block can be successfully received. In some approaches, a quantity of retransmissions of a link layer block may be determined without explicitly signaling the quantity of retransmissions. For instance, a wireless device may determine the quantity of retransmissions based on a quantity of negative acknowledgments and a limit on link layer blocks associated with the payload. Determining the quantity of retransmissions without explicitly signaling the quantity may avoid consuming bits in a packet header for explicitly indicating the quantity, thereby reducing complexity or reducing the time taken over the air for the additional bits in the packet header.

  • Publication number: 20250016701
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for streaming media from a Bluetooth-enabled peripheral device to a WLAN device over a wireless link (such as a P2P link). In some instances, a first peripheral device of a pair of peripheral devices selects values of a time-to-play (TTP) and a sequence number of a first audio stream, and synchronizes the selected TTP and sequence number with a TTP and a sequence number of a second audio stream. The first peripheral device rate-converts first audio data using a sample rate conversion ratio based on the selected TTP and sequence number, encapsulates the rate-converted first audio data into first RTP packets, and transmits the first RTP packets to the WLAN device concurrently with a transmission of second RTP packets from the second peripheral device to the WLAN device.

  • Publication number: 20240397399
Abstract: A wireless device establishes a Bluetooth connection with a peripheral device based on one or more Bluetooth Specifications, and transmits one or more first Bluetooth-encoded data frames to the peripheral device over the Bluetooth connection. The wireless device initiates a first handover operation for communications with the peripheral device responsive to a link metric of the Bluetooth connection being less than a first link metric threshold. In some instances, the first handover operation includes selecting an access point (AP) of one or more candidate APs based on signal strengths of frames received from the one or more candidate APs, and switching the communications between the wireless device and the peripheral device from the Bluetooth connection to a wireless local area network (WLAN) channel associated with the selected AP. The wireless device transmits one or more second Bluetooth-encoded data frames to the peripheral device over the WLAN channel.

  • Publication number: 20240365238
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are provided that improve power management for devices communicating via Bluetooth (BT) over Internet Protocol (BTOIP). The apparatus for wireless communication for a first device receives a first set of packets from a second device during a time period associated with a training phase for the first device. The apparatus determines an arrival time of a first packet of the first set of packets. The apparatus determines, based on the arrival time and a wakeup time interval, a wakeup time for the first device. The apparatus causes, based on the wakeup time for the first device and one or more attributes associated with the first set of packets, a shutdown of the first device.
