  • Publication number: 20240314532
Abstract: Disclosed is a method implemented in an MHS host for managing a plurality of MHS clients. The method includes: monitoring the plurality of MHS clients connected to the MHS host and a data usage of each of the plurality of MHS clients; displaying a list of the plurality of MHS clients and a statistic of the data usage of the plurality of MHS clients; providing an option to manage an MHS client from the plurality of MHS clients; providing, based on a selection of the MHS client, an option to set one at least one of a data limit or a time limit for the metered data usage for the selected MHS client; and controlling the data usage of the selected MHS client based on setting of the data limit or the time limit.

  • Patent number: 12081967
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method, an Access Point (AP) device for creating a closed Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) hotspot network, and a method, a station device for connecting to the closed Wi-Fi hotspot network. The AP device receives a first input for creating the closed Wi-Fi hotspot network, transmits an encryption key to the station device, which is present within a predefined region, over an in-band communication medium or an out-of-band communication medium, and creates the closed Wi-Fi hotspot network by communicating management frames in cipher text with the station device. The station device receives the encryption key and the management frames from the AP device; and transmits a connection request to the AP device for connecting to the closed Wi-Fi hotspot network. The communication of the management frames in the cipher text provides improved security against attacks associated with Wi-Fi hotspot networks.

  • Publication number: 20230388973
Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose methods for selecting a frequency band in (MHS) for a UE. These methods may include determining, by the UE, one or more parameters, wherein the one or more parameters may include at least one of: signal strength parameters, connectivity conditions of the UE in relation to the client device, and a data consumption capability of the UE, then mapping, by the UE, one or more parameters of the UE to at least one of a cell identity (ID), an Access point ID in case of Wi-Fi sharing (AP ID), and a geolocation of the UE, while connecting with the client device, and selecting, by the UE, the frequency band from a plurality of frequency bands based on at least one of the mapped cell ID or application ID and the geolocation of the UE.
