The system may determine a first characteristic of a schema of the application. The system may determine a percentage of completeness of the schema based on the first characteristic. The system may select a first database engine from the first subset of database engines, based on the percentage of completeness of the schema. The system may generate for display, on a user interface a recommendation for the first database engine.
