Abstract: An organization of database functionality provides for at least three types of databases or database logical partitions: a master database with controlled object insertion for reference and critical data entries to which others have read-only access; a number of team databases which function as “sandboxes” with maximum flexibility within a team without affecting or being affected by other teams; and a number of customer databases to securely facilitate the communication from the other types to third parties outside the company. This structure promotes collaboration and protects critical database objects from corruption by employees while allowing additional flexibility within a team and in communication with third parties. Associated devices and methods are disclosed as well.
