  • Patent number: 4493912
Abstract: A method of preparing a novel electromagnetic wave attenuating composition comprising forming a curable film forming coating composition and thereafter dispersing an effective amount of an electrically conductive additive in said curable film forming composition under low shear conditions to form said electromagnetic wave blocking composition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 15, 1983
Date of Patent: January 15, 1985
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Charles D. Dudgeon, Maynard R. Winstead
  • Patent number: 4359338
Abstract: A single package, air dry waterborne primer system which contains limited amounts of trace elements and offers corrosion resistance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 16, 1981
Date of Patent: November 16, 1982
    Assignee: General Electric Company
    Inventor: Maynard R. Winstead
  • Patent number: 4136075
Abstract: Acrylic copolymer solutions having a T.sub.g less than 0.degree. C., a weight average molecular size ranging from about 20,000 to about 50,000 and consisting essentially of about 4-14% ethylenically unsaturated acid, about 80-95% methyl acrylate and/or ethyl acrylate and about 1-8% lower alkyl methacrylate are obtained by copolymerizing the comonomers in the presence of an organic solvent which functions as a chain terminator. Water-borne, heat-curable, internal can coating compositions may be prepared by formulating these acrylic copolymer solutions with aqueous ammonia and a water-dispersible, cross-linking reagent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 27, 1977
Date of Patent: January 23, 1979
Assignee: A. E. Staley Manufacturing Company
Inventors: William M. Finn, Michael C. Peck, Maynard R. Winstead
