  • Publication number: 20160371714
Abstract: A system and method for the compensation of an entity, such as business or person, which is disadvantaged in a utility transaction in first utility unit, such as money, with at least a second utility unit, such as a coupon or voucher, such that the overall disadvantage to an entity from the transaction, economic or otherwise, is minimized. The system and method can be used in multiparty transactions where each party has a different interest in the transaction, such as with a restaurant, waiter, and customer to minimize the adverse effect to the waiter from tip reduction. The system and method can also be used to minimize the disadvantage to customers from stores that sell goods or services in a high-expense location who need to charge more because of the additional overhead. The system can also be used in other multiparty non-monetary transactions, such as dynamic resource allocation.

  • Publication number: 20160371730
Abstract: A system and method that allows an entity to request and incentivize the user of the mobile device to perform an action. The incentivizing of the user can be in a non-monetary second utility unit, such as coupon, voucher or credit unit, which can be optimized to give the greatest value to the user and least cost to the requesting entity to cause the incentivized action. The geographical location of the mobile devices of the user is known, and based upon the location, actions at the mobile devices can be requested, such as going to a specific location, the taking of a picture, posting of text, and answering a survey. Once the requested action is performed, a coupon or other second utility unit can be sent to the user of the mobile device or placed in the user account.

  • Publication number: 20160371687
Abstract: An electronic payment system that allows a payer to obtain an economic benefit in a payment transaction for a specific good or service. The system can provide either a direct financial discount in the currency or value units of the transaction, such as with a coupon discount for a specific good or service purchased, or the system can have a secondary benefit conferred on the transaction that can later accrue to a payer in a different transaction, such as a voucher or credit or other value unit. The use of the electronic payment system is of such advantage to the payer that specific actions can be requested of the payer prior to use of the system, such as gathering market data or answering a survey. The system can also provide a demand market for coupons, discounts, and utility units of value to a user by providing interested entities with item data that the user is contemplating purchasing.
