  • Patent number: 7960903
Abstract: An electron emission source-forming composition includes a carbon-based material; a vehicle composed of a resin component and a solvent component; and at least one metal oxide with an average particle diameter in a range of 100 to 1,000 nm selected from Al2O3, TiO2, and SiO2. The electron emission source-forming composition is sintered under an air atmosphere during electron emission source formation. Therefore, carbon deposits after sintering and degradation of Carbon Nano-Tubes (CNTs) upon sintering can be remarkably reduced. As a result, the electron emission source formed using the composition has a high current density and the electron emission device using the electron emission source exhibits enhanced reliability.

  • Patent number: 7755264
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for formatting an electron emission source of an electron emission device, and an electron emission source comprising the same. The composition comprises a paste comprising multi-walled carbon nanotubes exhibiting an RBM (Radial Breathing Mode) peak. The paste further comprises an inorganic powder, a binder resin, and an organic solvent. The electron emission source made from the composition of the present invention improves the lifetime and electron emission characteristics of the electron emission device by using multi-walled carbon nanotubes having excellent lifetime and electron emission characteristics.

  • Patent number: 7365482
Abstract: A field emission display includes first and second substrates provided opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween; electron emission sources provided on one of the first and second substrates; an electron emission inducing assembly for inducing the emission of electrons from the electron emission sources; and an illuminating assembly provided on the substrate on which the electron emission sources are not formed, the illuminating assembly realizing images by the emission of electrons from the electron emission sources. The electron emission sources include a carbon nanotube layer and a base layer, the base layer connecting the carbon nanotube layer to the substrate and applying a voltage to the carbon nanotube layer required for the emission of electrons. Also, the carbon nanotube layer is provided on the base layer in a state substantially un-mixed with the base layer.

  • Publication number: 20060175952
Abstract: A field emission display (FED) device and a method of manufacturing the field emission display (FED) device are provided. The field emission display (FED) device has a structure in which a gate electrode and a cathode are formed on a substrate, and an adsorption prevention layer is formed on the gate electrode. The adsorption prevention layer, which is formed of an adsorption prevention material that reduces surface energy, prevents a gate electrode from absorbing carbon nanotube (CNT) residue by reducing the surface energy of the gate electrode.

  • Publication number: 20050244325
Abstract: A carbon nanotube (CNT) with Raman spectrum having a G band and a D band, includes a ratio of a G band peak integral IG and a D band peak integral ID is 5 or greater. Further, there is an electron emission source including the CNT, an electron emission device including the electron emission source and a method of manufacturing the electron emission device. The electron emission source including the CNT has preferred current density, so the electron emission device using the electron emission source is highly reliable.
