  • Publication number: 20100179993
Abstract: A method is presented for monitoring electronic communications to facilitate productivity. The method may include detecting the opening of an electronic message on a computer and storing a start time corresponding to the opening. Metadata associated with the electronic message may be recorded. Such metadata may include, for example, a recipient, a sender, a subject, and a number of words typed. The method may further detect the closing of the electronic message, and may store an end time corresponding to the closing. Efficiency metrics associated with the message may be calculated based on the start time, the end time, and the metadata. Efficiency metrics may include, for example, total time spent, total word count, and number of words typed per minute. A report reflecting the metadata and the efficiency metrics may be generated.

  • Patent number: 7555489
Abstract: Mechanisms for generating a set of one or more elements of a fingerprint for a document, the document comprising a semantic construct having one or more ordered words, are provided. With these mechanisms, a range of sizes for a fingerprint element is defined and ordered words of the semantic construct are divided into a set of one or more mutually exclusive fingerprint elements. Each of the one or more mutually exclusive fingerprint elements includes a number of adjacent words, the number being within the range of sizes for a fingerprint element. Responsive to a determination that the set of mutually exclusive fingerprint elements excludes a word from the semantic construct, the excluded word is discarded.

  • Patent number: 7512978
Abstract: This presentation shows a method to present e-mails to human users only, by encoding the body of the e-mail with a user defined keyword, attaching the distorted image of the keyword to the e-mail and sending it to the intended user. This keyword image is extracted and verified by the user in a CAPTCHA style test on the receive side to authenticate human user participation and then e-mail body is decoded and presented to the intended user.
