Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to timing pickups of passengers for autonomous vehicles. For instance, while an autonomous vehicle is maneuvering itself to a pickup location for picking up a passenger, an estimated time of arrival for the passenger to reach the pickup location may be identified. The estimated time of arrival may be used to plan a route to the pickup location. The vehicle may be maneuvered to the pickup location using the route.
