The first end of the body may include a first coupling element, and the second end of the body may include a second coupling element. The second end of the body may include a first engagement element that extends inwardly into the body and may be disposed between a peripheral edge of the body and the second coupling element. Methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: Provided is a total talar replacement prosthesis that has a metallic body shell and a metallic or biologic core, where the metallic body shell includes one or both of a removable calcaneus attachment and a removable navicular attachment. The attachments, when removed, exposes a respective calcaneus-facing surface or a navicular-facing surface that can enhance fusion to the respective bones, calcaneus and/or navicular.

Abstract: An ankle prosthesis is provided that includes a tibial stem with a retractable member configured to be controllably movable between a retracted position and an extended position so that in the extended position the retractable member engages the surface of the bone that defines an intramedullary canal so as to enhance anchoring of the tibial stem within the tibia.

Abstract: A method of ankle replacement includes forming an anterior cut in a bone and forming a stem hole in a distal end of the bone. The stem hole is formed using a plurality of broaches positioned against the distal end of the bone through the anterior cut. A first portion and a second portion of a stem implant are inserted into the stem hole through the anterior cut in the bone. The first portion is coupled to the second portion using a coupling device inserted through the anterior cut in the bone. The stem implant is impacted into the stem hole using an offset impactor.

The upper surface has a shape that corresponds to an upper surface of an implant. The trial section defines a first slot extending from the upper surface to the lower surface and inwardly from a first side.
