Abstract: A method and apparatus for socialization of electronic devices is provided. Communications from a first person to a second person or to a group of persons may be enhanced, such as modified or supplemented, based on a user profile of the first person, the second person, and/or the group of persons. The user profile may comprise any one or any combination of the following: presence, expression, shared context, surrounding context, and device context. Moreover, enhancing the communication may comprise modifying or supplementing text, audio, video, image, scent, tactile and taste output. In addition, a communication is sent based on changes in a user profile. Changes in the user profile may comprise manual changes or automatic changes. Further, the content of the communication sent may depend on the aspect changed in the user profile.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for active relationship management. A computer implemented method for relationship management includes receiving a list of one or more enterprises. The method includes identifying one or more individuals associated with at least one of the enterprises. The method includes receiving information related to a topic of interest. The method includes parsing the received topic information into units of data. The method includes searching the units of data for one or more quotes. The method includes determining whether a found quote is related to any of the identified individuals. The method includes associating, if the found quote is determined to be related to one or more of the identified individuals, the quote found with the one or more individuals. The method includes storing the quote in a database.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus implementing a technique for providing a secured virtual marketplace. In general, in one aspect, the technique includes maintaining a list of virtual objects as well as data format information for each of a plurality of virtual environment systems. Each virtual object is represented by data. The data format information for a virtual environment system specifies a format that data must have to be processable by the virtual environment system. The techniques includes receiving a request to distribute one or more virtual objects from the list of virtual objects, the request identifying the virtual objects to be distributed and the virtual environment system with which the virtual objects are to interact. The technique includes formatting, in accordance with the data format information and the request, data representing the one or more virtual objects to be distributed and further includes distributing the one or more virtual objects.

Abstract: A collaborative interactive service is provided. Event messages are automatically generated and provided to a plurality of user devices via a networked communication environment, based on events of a subset of particular episodes of a plurality of episodes. User messages are received from the user devices via the networked communication environment, responsive to the generated event-based messages, and the received user messages are correlated to the events. The event messages are generated and provided based, in addition, on the user messages received and correlated. Association messages are received from the plurality of user devices, and the association messages are processed to determine the plurality of user devices and the subset of particular episodes.

Abstract: A method is provided to generate a display corresponding to a plurality of objects, on a display device. A plurality of portions of the display device are allocated to correspond to a plurality of separate domains into which the objects are categorized. With each portion, a shape is displayed for objects in the corresponding domain. The shapes are arranged in a spiral. The spatial relationship among the shapes in the spiral is determined based on a particular value of a characteristic associated with the objects. In accordance with a further aspect, a method is provided to generate a display, on a display device, representing at least one object. A plurality of portions of the display are allocated to correspond to a plurality of separate ranges of values of a first characteristic (such as time segments). At each of the plurality of portions, an indication is displayed of a value of a second characteristic of the at least one object in the range of the first characteristic to which that portion corresponds.
