  • Patent number: 6657981
Abstract: A network communication system is provided for communicating a wired subnet and a wireless subnet to solve the handover problems occurred in roaming. The system includes an IAPP manager program at a user level of the access point for communicating with a kernel-level device driver using system calls to perform an announce procedure and a handover procedure. A wireless LAN card driver with a packet filter is implemented for sending signals to the IAPP manager program to perform the handover procedure upon receiving a reassociation request packet from a mobile host. A wired LAN card driver is implemented for acting as an interface of the wired subnet. And a bridge program with a packet filter is implemented to increase the bandwidth efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5662288
Abstract: The present invention relates to a width changeable paper towel holder designed for presently available paper towels of different specifications. The towel holder has a fixed plate, a pair of pull-out plates and a pair of arm plates wherein the fixed plate is secured to a wall surface or any other fixed object, the pair of the pull-out plates, each on either side, being slidably received between an upper and a lower grooved rails provided on the fixed plate. An arm plate pivoted to the end of each of the pull-out plates can be resiliently retained in a locating hole on one or the other end of an elongate slot by means of a locating button such that the pull-out plates can be positioned when being pulled out or pushed in, thereby to provide two different widths between the arm plates for loading paper towels of different specifications.
