  • Publication number: 20230355443
Abstract: Delivering an anesthetizing solution into the ear canal. One example embodiment is a method of treatment, the method comprising: adhering a pad to a patient, the adhering on the patients face proximate to a tragus of the patient, and the pad being a member of an earset assembly; inserting an earset into an ear canal of the patient; locking relative orientations of the earset and pad by way of a connection assembly, the locking in place to hold the earset in the ear canal; filling the ear canal with therapeutic fluid; and performing iontophoresis with the therapeutic fluid by way of an electrode of the earset.

  • Patent number: 11020136
Abstract: Deflectable guide catheters and methods, including methods for using deflectable guide catheters to perform transnasal procedures within the ear, nose, throat, paranasal sinuses or cranium. Some deflectable guide catheters of the present invention comprise a substantially rigid tube, a helical spring attached to and extending from the distal end of the substantially rigid tube, a tubular plastic inner jacket, an outer plastic jacket substantially covering at least the helical spring member. The spring member is deflectable to cause the distal portion of the guide catheter to deflect to a curved configuration. In embodiments for transnasal use the deflectable guide catheter may have a length of less than 25 cm.

  • Patent number: 9700326
Abstract: Shapeable guide catheters and methods for manufacturing and using such shapeable guide catheters. In one embodiment, the shapeable guide catheter comprises a tubular member having a shapeable region, a malleable shaping member attached to the shapeable region such that, when the shape of the shapeable region is changed from a first shape to a second shape, the shaping member will plastically deform to thereafter substantially hold the shapeable region in the second shape, a tubular outer jacket disposed about the outer surface of the tubular member and a tubular inner jacket disposed within the lumen of the tubular member. The shapeable region of the guide catheter may be manually formed into a desired shape before insertion of the guide catheter into the body. In some embodiments, the guide catheter is sized to be inserted through a nostril of a human patient and used to guide the transnasal insertion of another device (e.g., a guidewire, catheter, etc.

  • Publication number: 20080183128
Abstract: A method for irrigating a paranasal sinus may involve advancing a distal portion of a sinus irrigation catheter through an ostium of a paranasal sinus into the sinus and passing fluid through multiple ports disposed at different locations along a length of the catheter distal portion into the sinus. A flexible irrigation catheter device for irrigating a paranasal sinus may include: an elongate catheter body having a proximal end, a distal end, a lumen therebetween, and a tapered distal portion extending proximally from the distal end of the catheter body; a proximal hub coupled with the proximal end of the catheter body for connecting to a source of irrigation fluid; multiple side ports disposed along the catheter body closer to the distal end than the proximal end and in fluid communication with the lumen; and a distal end port at the distal end of the catheter body.
