  • Publication number: 20090008518
Abstract: A monitor with a screen adjustable in highness and inclination provides a H-shaped adjusting member with a first end, a second end, a third end and a fourth end to connect with shafts attached to support arms extending from the base in association with an actuation part to allow the adjusting member capable of rotating on the base. Further, the adjusting member is rotationally connected to a main monitor member with another shaft and another actuation part. Besides, two four-bar linkages each provide a fixing end to connect with two of the shafts on the support arms and a movable end to connect with the other two of the shafts on the support arms for obtaining strong structure of the monitor and adjusting highness and inclination of the screen conveniently.

  • Publication number: 20090013351
Abstract: There is provided a preview distribution technique capable of realizing a flexible preview distribution between a distribution side and a user side. According to the technique, preview meta data describing reference destination information to the preview-constituting data of a plurality of types constituting the content preview is transmitted to a reception terminal. The reception terminal acquires the preview-constituting data by using the reference destination information described in the preview meta data and generates/reproduces the preview. Thus, when modifying the preview, the reception terminal can reproduce the preview after the modification, by acquiring only the data constituting the preview of the modified part, thereby easily modifying the data constituting the preview. That is, it is possible to perform a flexible preview distribution.

  • Patent number: 7467297
Abstract: An apparatus of a flexible and common MPEG-2 IPMP system (Intellectual Property Management and Protection) is invented to provide flexibility and interoperability by introducing a IPMP Control Information which includes IPMP Tool List and an optional Tool Container. The IPMP Control Information is put in PSI in MPEG-2 transport stream, and a special PES packet in MPEG-2 program stream. IPMP Stream is defined to carry IPMP information that is to be sent to each individual IPMP tool instance. The concept of Tool Manager, Message Router from MPEG-4 IPMP extension is mapped into MPEG-2 terminal to form MPEG-2 IPMP framework together with introduced IPMP Control Information and IPMP Stream. As a result of this invention, the same protected MPEG-2 content is able to play back by different types of MPEG-2 IPMP terminals, and the same MPEG-2 content can be protected by using different vendors' IPMP system.

  • Patent number: 7443320
Abstract: A decoding method according to the present invention is a method of decoding a variable length code to a Run symbol and a Level symbol. The Run symbol indicates the number of consecutive coefficients each having a value of zero. The Level symbol indicates a value of a non-zero coefficient following the Run symbol. The decoding method includes decoding a variable length code to a code number, determining whether the code number obtained in the decoding belongs to a first range or a predetermined range, decoding the code number to a Run symbol and a Level symbol by referring to a table, when it is determined that the code number belongs to the first range, and decoding the code number to a Level symbol and then decoding a variable length code following the decoded variable length code to a Run symbol, without referring to the table, when it is determined that the code number belongs to the predetermined range.

  • Patent number: 7436958
Abstract: The present invention relates to content and IPMP tool transfer among distributed IPMP devices. A set of messages is defined for distributed IPMP devices. These messages include content transfer message, IPMP tool transfer messages, as well device ID broadcasting messages. Using these messages, distributed devices can use a standard set of messages to establish a network, and exchange content protected by IPMP in an inter-operable way. It is also related to carriage of rights in MPEG system, especially in MPEG-4 system. Rights ES (Elementary Stream) is defined in MPEG-4 system, to carry rights information. The Rights ES is also attached with information including whether the rights carried in the ES is proprietary or not, and/or what should be the rights management tool to handle this Rights ES. With that, terminal can be built in an inter-operable way, and retrieve rights from a standardized position.

  • Publication number: 20080130761
Abstract: Mosaic-shaped block noise occurs when a compressed video signal is reproduced. This block noise is removed, but removing block noise from every block using a deblocking filter imposes a significant load on the deblocking filter. This load is therefore reduced by determining whether coding distortion removal (deblocking) is necessary, and applying a deblocking filter only when needed.

  • Publication number: 20080063084
Abstract: A coding distortion removal method for removing coding distortion in an image which was has been divided in to a plurality of macroblocks. The method operates under the following conditions such that: (i) a size of a pixel in a motion compensation block is smaller than a size of a pixel in said macroblock; (ii) a size of a pixel in a motion compensation block is larger than a size of a pixel in a coding unit; and (iii) a pixel difference between two adjacent motion compensation blocks located inside the macroblock is zero. The method disables the coding distortion removal at a boundary between blocks located inside each of the two adjacent motion compensation blocks, and enables the coding distortion removal at a boundary between the two adjacent motion compensation blocks.

  • Publication number: 20080056602
Abstract: A method for coding a picture segmented into a plurality of blocks. The method decodes the coded blocks to produce a reproduced image. A filter selection parameter determines a threshold value for each quantization parameter, so as to change between a mode to effect coding distortion removal by a filter and a mode not to effect the coding distortion removal. The determined filter selection parameter is coded. A difference between pixel values of pixels in the adjacent blocks on both sides of a boundary between adjacent blocks forming the reproduced image is compared with the determined threshold value determined by the filter selection parameter, and the coding distortion is removed using the filter when the difference is smaller than the threshold value, and not removed when the difference is larger than the threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20080056353
Abstract: An LSI device for decoding a coded image segmented and coded in a plurality of blocks. The LSI device includes a section which receives a filter selection parameter that determines a threshold value for each quantization parameter, for changing between conducting and non-conducting a coding distortion removal by the use of a filter. A decoder, decodes a coded block to obtain a reproduced image. A remover, removes a coding distortion from a region including both sides of a block boundary between adjacent decoded blocks that form the reproduced image, in accordance with a comparison of a difference value of the pixels in adjacent decoded blocks with the threshold value determined based on the filter selection parameter, such that the coding distortion removal is not conducted when the difference value is greater than the threshold value. The coding distortion removal is conducted by the use of the filter when the difference value is smaller than the threshold value.

  • Patent number: RE40664
Abstract: A method of encoding a local time base embedded in the compressed data is disclosed. The local time base is encoded in two parts. The first part has a modulo time base that indicates the specific interval in the reference time base and the second part has a time base increment relative to the reference time. Two forms of time base increment is used to allow for the possibility of different encoding order and displaying order. A mechanism for the synchronization of multiple compressed streams with local time base is also described. A time base offset mechanism is also used to allow finer granularity synchronization of the multiple compressed streams.
