  • Patent number: 6726455
Abstract: The inventive fan includes a frame having a hub defining an aperture and a fan unit received in the frame. The fan unit has an air impeller rotatably supported by the hub and a circuitry adapted to adjust the rotational speed of the air impeller. The heat sensor extends from the fan unit to the heat sink through the aperture of the hub, and sends a signal indicative of the precise temperature of the heat sink to the circuitry for the adjustment of the rotational speed of the air impeller. As a result, the rotational speed of the air impeller can be changed upon the precise temperature of the heat sink detected by the heat sensor.

  • Publication number: 20040076514
Abstract: A suspension type heat-dissipation fan includes a frame rotatably supporting an air impeller therein. The frame has an air outlet and is formed with an inner rim defining an opening aligned with the air impeller. In addition, a ring is attached to the rim of the frame and has an inner periphery defining an air inlet of a size smaller than the diameter of the air impeller. This inventive fan increases the pressure of airflow into the air inlet, while enabling the air impeller to be placed into the frame through the opening before assembling the ring to the rim.

  • Patent number: 6697256
Abstract: A fastening device for attaching a heat sink to a heat producer, which is supported on a board having through-holes aligned with mounting holes of the heat sink. The fastening device includes a tube adjacent to one mounting hole, a fastening member movably received in the tube, and an elastic member fitted around the fastening member. The fastening member has an enlarged resilient head, a shoulder and a neck extending between the head and the shoulder, with the head adapted to squeeze through the mounting hole and the through-hole for engaging with a side of the board opposite to the tube. The elastic member includes a minimum diameter section fitted around the heck and abutting the shoulder of the cylinder, a maximum diameter section abutting a distal end of the tube, and an intermediate diameter section stretchable between the minimum and maximum diameter sections.
