The display panel includes a plurality of sub-pixels, each of the plurality of sub-pixels including a pixel electrode and a common electrode, the driving method including: determining a data signal to be provided to the pixel electrode of each of the plurality of sub-pixels according to an image to be displayed by the display panel; calculating a compensation data signal to be provided to the pixel electrode of each of the plurality of sub-pixels according to the data signal; and providing the data signal and the compensation data signal simultaneously to the pixel electrode of each of the plurality of sub-pixels.
