  • Patent number: 7390063
Abstract: Seat structure for a motor vehicle seat includes upper rails, which are longitudinally displaceable relative to lower rails mounted fixedly to the motor vehicle that include longitudinal slots, and a seat frame, which includes insertion tabs, which are inserted in the longitudinal slots of the upper tracks. To facilitate a quick and secure assembly at a low cost, the seat frame includes a front and back crossbeam, on which the insertion tabs are present. The insertion tabs each include a notch, which engages an upper rail and fixes it vertically. The crossbeams are fixed longitudinally on the upper rails by formfitting fasteners, and a seat pan is fastened to the crossbeams.

  • Publication number: 20080084105
Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle seat, in particular for a motor vehicle, wherein the vehicle seat comprises padding and a profile or panel which comprises a padding channel for the fastening of the padding and/or of a cover, and wherein the padding channel comprises a tab which protrudes into the padding channel in such a manner that it increasingly narrows the latter in one section (V) in the longitudinal direction of the padding channel.

  • Publication number: 20070170770
Abstract: Vehicle seat includes a seat section with a seat section frame and a backrest with a backrest frame, which is connected to seat section by inclination adjustment fittings such that it is pivotable around a backrest pivoting axis. Vehicle seat includes a seat-integrated safety belt with a shoulder belt outlet provided in upper backrest area and with backrest/adjustment fitting overload protection. The backrest/adjustment fitting overload protection includes a shoulder belt deflection element provided in shoulder belt outlet, is fixed in the backrest frame, is capable of shifting against a level of prestress, and a locking device. Locking device is actively connected to deflection element via a coupler, which conducts dynamic load or force exerted by a passenger via shoulder belt onto deflection element during a front crash into seat section frame via locking device.

  • Publication number: 20070063565
Abstract: Vehicle seat includes seat frame longitudinally adjustable on an upper rail relative to a lower rail affixed to the chassis. Seat frame is held in place in its longitudinal positions by a longitudinal locking mechanism, releasable by a rail release mechanism. A backrest with a backrest frame is pivotably attached to seat frame, locked in place on seat frame by a stop adjustment mechanism, and, once released by a release lever, can be folded forward from an upright use position to an easy-entry position. Easy-entry manipulation device actuates release lever, a seat cushion adjustable relative to seat frame, with a seat cushion frame, which is shifted forward longitudinally in a coupled adjustment motion when backrest frame is folded forward to easy-entry position. When vehicle seat is in easy-entry position the seat cushion frame can be shifted rearwardly relative to the backrest frame and seat frame.

  • Publication number: 20060175887
Abstract: Rear backrest frame for a rear backrest component of a vehicle seat, with at least one main plate, one left and one right lateral hat-shaped section extending vertically, one upper and one lower hat-shaped section extending in a transverse direction, and the hat-shaped sections are welded to the front surface of the main plate. The rear backrest frame has cushion channels on its lateral edges and its upper and lower edges, for attachment of a cushion and/or cover. In order to enable a secure mounting of the backrest cushion and/or cover and a cost-effective, flexible production with a wide range of possible variants, it is provided that the hat-shaped sections are rectilinear in configuration, the lateral hat-shaped sections are welded to the hat-shaped sections that extend in a transverse direction, and the lateral cushion channels are formed on the lateral hat-shaped sections. Further, a corresponding production process is provided.

  • Publication number: 20060138842
Abstract: Backrest side rail for a vehicle seat, with a lower mounting configured to provide for a jointed connection to a fitting component on the side of the seat frame, as well as a module system with a backrest side rail of this type in order to enable the design and production of different backrest reclining systems, provide for a wide variety of adjustment variants and the use of different fittings, while keeping manufacturing and machine tool costs low. The backrest side rail further includes that above the lower mounting an upper mounting is provided for the installation of a box fitting or an intermediate flange. A predetermined intentional breakaway point or line may be provided between the upper and lower mountings, and along which the basic backrest side rail can be divided into a short backrest side rail including the upper mounting and a separated section including the lower mounting.

  • Patent number: 6135558
Abstract: A motor vehicle seat includes a backrest, a seat cushion and a coupling mechanism movably coupling the seat cushion to the backrest. The backrest is foldable between an erected seating position and a folded sleeping position. The seat cushion is movable between a retracted seating position and an extended sleeping position. The coupling mechanism couples mechanically the seat cushion to the backrest such that the folding of the backrest from the erected seating position to the folded sleeping position causes displacement of the seat cushion from the retracted seating position to the extended sleeping position. In the extended position, the seat cushion is substantially horizontally aligned with the backrest in the folded sleeping position.

  • Patent number: 5947541
Abstract: A motor vehicle, in particular a small bus or van, has passenger seats selectably fixable to the vehicle floor in different locations by means of releasable locking elements. The vehicle floor includes a plurality of permanently installed electrical outlets associated with a plurality of different seat locations. In this way, electrified passenger seats can be fixed in various locations without the need to pass obstructive electric supply cables over the floor.
