  • Patent number: 9386803
Abstract: A tobacco smoking device comprises a porous mass of active particles adapted to enhance a tobacco smoke flowing over said active particles and binder particles. The active particles comprises about 1-99% weight of the porous mass, and the binder particles comprises about 1-99% weight of said porous mass. The active particles and said binder particles are bound together at randomly distributed points throughout the porous mass. The active particles have a greater particle size than the binder particles.

  • Publication number: 20140054217
Abstract: A process for the aeration of wastewater employs an aerator comprising a porous body having an average pore size from 5 to 250 ?m produced by sintering a composition comprising polyethylene particles having a molecular weight of at least 3×105 g/mol as determined by ASTM-D 4020 and a weight average particle size, D50, from 20 to 650 ?m. The porous aerator is provided in the wastewater and an oxygen-containing gas, such as air, is passed through the porous aerator into the wastewater to assist in purification of the wastewater.

  • Publication number: 20130046040
Abstract: A polyethylene powder has a molecular weight in the range of about 300,000 g/mol to about 2,000,000 g/mol as determined by ASTM-D 4020, an average particle size, D50, between about 300 and about 1500 ?m, and a bulk density between about 0.25 and about 0.5 g/ml. On sintering, the polyethylene powder produces a porous article having a porosity of at least 45% and a pressure drop less than 5 mbar. The porous article is useful in, for example, wastewater aeration and capillary and filtration applications.

  • Publication number: 20050127555
Abstract: Filled pelletized materials made from high- or ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylenes and process for their production Pelletized materials made from high- and/or ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene are described. The pelletized materials comprise fillers and/or reinforcing materials and can be processed by processes known per se to give moldings. • Patent number: 5449484
Abstract: For the production of extrudates such as profiles or granules, pulverulent or finely divided ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is processed on single screw extruders. By the use of a screw with a specific geometry, thermal degradation of the polymer into low molecular weight products is avoided. Furthermore, profiles are obtained which have perfect surfaces, are free of voids and pores, and have no internal stresses.
