Abstract: In a method for capacitive determination of the moisture content in a gas to be measured, it is provided that a capacitive element (2) brought into contact with a gas to be measured is operated in the manner of an RC oscillator (5) in charge-discharge cycles (27, 28), with the moisture content of the gas to be measured being determined from the time duration of a cycle. To assess measurement errors brought about by contaminants or aging effects, a measure for the time duration of a charging process (27) and a discharging process (28) is determined from output signal (26) of RC oscillator (5) and is processed with the measurement signal for the moisture content into a corrected measurement signal (FIG. 4).
