  • Patent number: 7456562
Abstract: The essential thought of this patent is that organic emission layer is utilized instead of inorganic phosphor thin film in field emission display (FED). The field emission organic light emitting diode (FEOLED) in this invention is configured with an electron multiplier (dynode) between the cathode of FED and the organic emission layer, wherein secondary electron material is coated in the holes of the dynode. The design for the organic emission layer, which includes a hole injection layer (HIL), a hole transport layer (HTL) and an emission layer (EL), is able to attain higher luminance and lower power consumption for the innovative FEOLED than conventional OLED.

  • Publication number: 20070286944
Abstract: Methods of making top-emitting or bottom-emitting full-color OLED flat panel using micro-cavity structure for primary colors are disclosed. The primary colors are realized by setting a different thickness for the hole injection layer of the OLEDs for each primary color, while keeping the thickness of the hole transport layer, the emission layer, the electron transport layer the same for all the OLEDs. Steps for predetermining the respective thickness of the hole injection layer for each primary color are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7208866
Abstract: A field emission display device includes three parts: a cathode emitter unit, an electron amplification unit, and a faceplate unit. The primary emission of electrons emitted from the cathode emitter unit bombards an electrode layer that includes an electron amplification material in order to generate secondary emissions of electrons. The secondary emissions of electrons bombard a light-emitting layer of the faceplate unit to generate fluorescence. Then, the fluorescence is transmitted through a transparent faceplate for viewing.

  • Publication number: 20050100760
Abstract: A white organic EL device has an organic layer between an anode and a cathode on a substrate. The organic layer has at least a blue emitting layer, a red emitting layer, and a green emitting layer. The red emitting layer contains a blue emitting compound doped with at least one of a yellow dopant dye 14b and a red dopant dye 14c. When a voltage is applied between the anode and the cathode, each emitting layer emits blue, red, and green light respectively, therefore the white organic EL device 20 emits white light.

  • Patent number: 4743801
Abstract: An EL device is disclosed which comprises a transparent electrode provided directly on a moistureproofing member made of a light-transmitting sheet member, a light-emitting layer provided on the transparent electrode for emitting light, a back electrode provided on the light-emitting layer, and a protection member provided on the outside of the back electrode and bonded with the moistureproofing member at the circumference of the light-emitting layer, weighs considerably lighter than an EL device employing a glass substrate, and has a higher luminous characteristic as compared with a similar EL device employing light-transmitting sheet members. Since, the EL device employs fewer number of the expensive light-transmitting sheet members than the mentioned similar EL devices, it can be manufactured at lower cost and through simpler manufacturing processes.
