In the embodiment of the present disclosure, an energy saving approach is configured for the network device, and then the target energy consumption state of the network device is indicated by indication information, so that the network device can determine the corresponding energy saving approach according to the target energy consumption state, thereby reducing the energy consumption of the network device.
