    Abstract: An improved, high-efficiency wheel lug nut socket is provided for use in racing pits, in order to minimize the time required for race car wheel changeovers. The socket is designed with an inner operating surface including concave surfaces and intervening apex surfaces, dimensioned so as to permit a hexagonal lug nut to be received therein with full clearance between the inner operating surface and the lug nut outer surface. The socket is normally used with a conventional high-speed pneumatic automotive wrench.
