    Abstract: A butt mounted riser hinge has a plastic cam assembly mounted in two metallic cylinders so that their camming surfaces do not rub against the metallic cylinders and become readily worn. The cam assembly includes a male member with bevelled end that is rotatably received in a cup-shaped female member. The hinge further includes a spring and shell assembly in sliding arrangement with one of the metallic cylinders.

    Abstract: A socket for use in mounting a cylindrical leg to a table is comprised of a tube that has a generally cylindrical wall one end of which is inwardly flared to form a circular lip of a selected inside diameter substantially equal to the outside diameter of the leg. The generally cylindrical wall is formed with at least three inwardly projecting ribs that the located tangentially about a geometric cylindrical boundary of the same diameter as the selected inside diameter of the wall end lip.
