Abstract: A pressure sensing chamber having a canted tubing extension with a reduced diameter portion extending through the chamber. The tubing contains a plurality of ports so as to allow the purging of air from the chamber, but the ports are sized so that bubbles entering the tubing cannot easily flow into the chamber. The reduced diameter portion creates a pressure differential between the holes. This differential pressure creates flow through the chamber under high liquid flow and turbulent liquid flow events.

Abstract: A surgical irrigation system having reduced irrigation flow resistance. Reduction in irrigation fluid flow resistance is achieved by increasing the diameter of the irrigation fluid tubings. The ends of the tubings are tapered to reduce the stiffness of the tubings and to allow the tubings to be connected to current surgical devices.

Abstract: A cassette having a molded flow channel contained on an elastomeric sheet that is bonded or mechanically attached to a rigid substrate. The flow channel projects outwardly from the exterior of the cassette so that a peristaltic pump having pump head rollers mounted radially from the axis of rotation of the pump motor compress the elastomeric flow channels against the rigid substrate during operation.
