  • Patent number: 8126403
Abstract: A cellular radio communication system includes a first serving cell and a second non-serving cell. A mobile radio is currently served by a first base station in the first cell. An uplink radio transmission from the mobile radio will cause or causes inter-cell interference in the second non-serving cell. Accordingly, an estimate is made of the inter-cell interference in the second non-serving cell associated with the mobile radio's uplink transmission. If the estimated inter-cell interference in the second non-serving cell exceeds a predetermined threshold, then control is performed so that the inter-cell interference in the second non-serving cell is limited, e.g., by managing radio resources so that the estimated inter-cell interference in the second non-serving cell is or becomes less than the predetermined threshold.
