  • Patent number: 8130692
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for data handling in a distributed communication network includes a data-handling node (DHN) residing at a mission management center (MMC). The MMC manages operations of one or more remote units. The DHN receives a stream of data units from a routing system. The stream of data units includes both stored mission data (SMD) and telemetry data having originated at the remote units. The DHN, in near real time, extracts the telemetry data from the stream of data units, identifies one or more subsystems of the MMC for receiving the extracted telemetry data, and communicates the extracted telemetry data to the identified subsystems of the MMC for processing.

  • Patent number: 7773551
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for data handling in a distributed communication network includes one or more data-handling nodes (DHNs) that each reside at one of one or more receptors. Each receptor is operable to receive first data units from one or more remote units. Each DHN is operable to extract second data units from the first data units, add extensions to the second data units for tracking the second data units in the distributed communication network, store the second data units locally at the receptor, generate log files of the second data units for communication to a data monitoring and recovery (DMR) agent at the receptor, and communicate the second data units with the added extensions to a routing system for routing the second data units in the distributed communication network.

  • Patent number: 7701891
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for data handling in a distributed communication network includes one or more data-handling nodes (DHNs) each residing at one of one or more centrals that are each operable to receive a stream of first data units from a routing system. The stream of first data units includes both stored mission data (SMD) and telemetry data having originated at one or more remote units. Each DHN is operable, in near real time, to remove redundant instances of first data units from the stream of first data units, properly order first data units in the stream of first data units received at the central out of order, remove misconfigured first data units from the stream of first data units, extract the SMD from the stream of first data units, generate second data units from the extracted SMD, and communicate a stream of the second data units to one or more interface data processors (IDPs).

  • Patent number: 7376077
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for DMR includes generating first tracking reports of first data units received at one or more receptors from one or more remote units, generating second tracking reports of first data units received at one of one or more centrals, and generating delivery reports of second data units extracted at the central from the first data units received at the central. The method includes, using the delivery reports, identifying missing second data units that should have been received at the central, but were not. The method includes, using one or more of the tracking reports, mapping the missing second data units to one or more first data units and determining a best source for retransmission of the first data units mapped to the missing second data units. The method includes generating a retransmit request for the first data units mapped to the missing second data units and communicating the retransmit request to the best source.
