  • Patent number: 10352684
Abstract: An electronic feeler gauge comprises a sensor blade, a transmitting system, and a receiving system. The sensor blade comprises transmission induction coils, reception induction coils, and measurement sites, spaced in two dimensions about the sensor blade. Each of the measurement sites is associated with at least one of the transmission induction coils and at least one of the reception induction coils. The transmitting system is configured to drive modulated signals across the transmission induction coils to produce transmitted probe signals from the transmission induction coils. The receiving system is configured to receive response signals from the reception induction coils due to the transmitted probe signals.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 17, 2016
Date of Patent: July 16, 2019
    Assignee: The Boeing Company
    Inventors: Morteza Safai, Melissa McQueen

The sensor blade comprises transmission induction coils, reception induction coils, and measurement sites, spaced in two dimensions about the sensor blade. Each of the measurement sites is associated with at least one of the transmission induction coils and at least one of the reception induction coils. The transmitting system is configured to drive direct electrical current across the transmission induction coils to produce transmitted probe signals from the transmission induction coils. The receiving system is configured to receive response signals from the reception induction coils due to the transmitted probe signals.

  • Publication number: 20180106589
Abstract: An electronic feeler gauge (110) comprises a sensor blade (112), a transmitting system (120), and a receiving system (124). The sensor blade (112) comprises transmission induction coils (114), reception induction coils (116), and measurement sites (118), spaced in two dimensions about the sensor blade (112). Each of the measurement sites (118) is associated with at least one of the transmission induction coils (114) and at least one of the reception induction coils (116). The transmitting system (120) is configured to drive modulated signals (130) across the transmission induction coils (114) to produce transmitted probe signals (122) from the transmission induction coils (114). The receiving system (124) is configured to receive response signals (126) from the reception induction coils (116) due to the transmitted probe signals (122).

  • Patent number: 9463500
Abstract: A method and apparatus for bending an elongate member. A plastic force may be applied to the elongate member. The plastic force may be configured to cause the elongate member to bend with a plastic deformation. The plastic force may be reduced to an elastic force that is applied to the elongate member after the plastic force causes the elongate member to bend with the plastic deformation.
