Abstract: This application provides, among other things, oral care compositions where the addition of a stabilizing amount of a nonionic gelling and thickening agent, (e.g., hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC)), to formulations comprising a bisbiguanide (e.g., chlorhexidine (CHX)) agent allows for proper structure and consistency to the formulation and to allow it to be used as a gel or a toothpaste to facility delivery of chlorhexidine, among other actives, to the teeth or gums.
