Abstract: An automated electronic payment system for enabling contactless payment at a number of electronic payment facilities. The automated electronic payment system includes an electronic communication device capable of running an application for communicating with the electronic payment facilities, a wireless communication device providing a unique wireless communication zone having a unique coverage area and zone identification credentials at the electronic payment facility, a server in communication with the electronic payment facilities and the electronic communication devices to process a variety of information and a wireless communication channel to enable communication between the electronic communication devices, the electronic payment facilities and the servers.
