  • Patent number: 5286191
Abstract: A one-piece molded dental dowel-pin adapted to be fixed to a tooth die and having an integral elongated locking-and-indexing arm which, after final trimming of a dental model, has an outer tip which is visible to a human observer when the tooth die is inserted in the trimmed, final dental model.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 1992
Date of Patent: February 15, 1994

  • Patent number: 4840565
Abstract: A dowel-pin for a tooth-die has two longitudinally spaced bore holes into which are inserted corresponding pins of a U-shaped locking device to form an assembly which is embedded in the base stone during the fabrication of a dental model. After trimming of the stone, the locking device is removed to permit a corresponding tooth die to be removed from the model. When the tooth die is returned to the model, the locking device is reinserted through the stone and into the bore holes of the dowel-pin, thereby locking the tooth die and dowel-pin against movement in all directions.

  • Patent number: 4797099
Abstract: A resilient denture connecting device for utilization with a male/female attachment means to an abutment tooth, which includes a distally extending shank and a housing sized and configured to nest over the shank and pivot means pivotally interconnecting the shank and housing for swinging movement of the housing relative to the shank and said pin dwelling in a slot which permits of vertical movement of adjustment through a predetermined limited range of movement and the device further includes a biasing means normally urging the housing in a normal untilted position but yieldable vertically and swingably so that the housing is adapted to move vertically and in a distal hinge direction in response to masticating loads and to be reboundingly restored to a normal position by the resilient means.

  • Patent number: 4752224
Abstract: A denture connector is provided with a hollow cylindrical female member having a retainer plate embedded in a denture crown. A male member comprises a top planar surface having a lateral projection to which there is attached a retainer block having projecting fins on outer walls thereof. A boss depends from an undersurface of the top planar member and has a bore coextensive with a threaded recess in said undersurface of the top planar member. A threaded screw with a removable expandable sleeve thereon is threaded into the threaded recess to complete the male unit. The male unit is inserted into the female unit whereby a tolerance space exists between the outer diameter of the sleeve and the inner diameter of the female cylinder. The retainer block attached to the lateral projection has a space therein whereby the combination of space and the projector fins ensure firm embedment of the retainer block in denture material.

  • Patent number: 4573923
Abstract: A denture attachment comprises a hollow cylindrical female member having a laterally extending web portion and a retention plate for embedding in a denture crown. A male member having a non-metal sleeve adapted to be inserted in the female member for rotation therein. The male member has a laterally projecting attachment arm for attaching the male member to adjacent denture material.

  • Patent number: 4196516
Abstract: Denture attachments for establishing a connection between a tooth and an adjoining denture include a female housing anchored in a tooth, a male connector assembly with a housing and an expandable insert. The housing is secured to the denture, and is of reduced height relative thereto, whereby a portion of the denture overlies the housing. The housing is secured to the denture, and the insert is engaged in the female housing. In a modification, the housing of the male connector assembly has means to effect a secure connection with a mastic type of adhesive bond.
