    Abstract: A control drive system for a vehicle, such as a shuttle car, operating back and forth between a work area and an unloading point wherein AC supplied from the unloading point is supplied to the vehicle via a cable and is converted to DC aboard the vehicle, and wherein control circuitry is provided for effecting the start-up, acceleration in forward and reverse directions and the operation of the vehicle at tram speeds in either direction.
