Abstract: A clamp 10 comprises a moulded plastics hollow member 11 for receiving a first elongate member 13. The member 11 has external bosses 22 on two opposed sides defining aligned apertures which receive a second elongate member 30 which extends through the member 13. The member 13 can be solid with a bore for member 30 or hollow with apertures in opposed sides. One wall of the member has external ribs 18 and a recess in its inner surface in which is a nut in threaded engagement with a stem 23 of a clamp knob 24 so that the member 30 can be clamped between the inner end of the stem 23 and edges of opposed walls of the member 13. The member 11 can have a through bore for member 13 so as to be movable along it.

Abstract: There is described a protector for the corner of an article, the article at the corner having two substantially plane, usually parallel, faces and adjacent edge faces 22, 23, the protector having two spaced members 13, 14 to slide over respective ones of said faces and side wall members connecting the two spaced members for overlying the edge faces, the members defining a mouth to allow the protector to be applied to the corner, the side wall members having at least a portion 18 intermediate the spaced members adapted to resist movement of the spaced members towards or away from each other.Each side wall has confronting flanges 16, 19 connected by web 18 and parallel slots 9 are formed in the flanges, an L shaped web 30 connects webs 18 and provides central protection for the article corner. Corner junction 40 may be strengthened by a bead.

Abstract: A door arrestor which can be fitted to the lintel of a door frame. The arrestor has a body part which is secured to the lintel and a plunger part which projects from the body part and can move into the body part when struck by the closing door. For a door shutting rapidly the plunger is arrested after completing only a part of its movement and hence the door is arrested before it closes. For a door shutting slowly the plunger is free to complete its whole movement and hence the door is allowed to close. The plunger moves against the action of a spring so that when the door is re-opened the plunger projects again from the body part. The plunger carries a headless loose pin movable in a slot in the plunger and in slots in the body part. With a rapid shutting door the pin is trapped before it completes a full movement and this trapping arrests the plunger. With a slow shutting door the pin has time to fall under gravity to escape being trapped and hence is freed to complete a full movement in its slots.

Abstract: A corner protector, such as for protecting the corners of plate or board-like articles, is made as a single moulding of plastics material and comprises top and bottom triangular planar parts, to slide over respective top and bottom parallel faces of the board, and wall parts; edges of all said parts defining a mouth to allow the protector to be applied to a corner of the board, the wall parts including resilient means to allow the top and bottom planar parts to move apart elastically. The resilient means may comprise springs of folded strand form lying in the plane of the wall parts. Preferably, the corner edge of the protector which abuts the corner edge of the board is thickened and rounded by a protuberance of cylindrical form.
